The growth in technological applications is compelling many businesses to adapt to modernity.
Rural Banks are accepting technology to keep their businesses afloat.
Odotobri Rural Bank is the latest to migrate some services onto mobile applications.
Chief Executive of the Bank, Abraham Coffie believes moving services to digital platforms will help make banking flexible for its clients.
“The tier one banks are far ahead in electronic banking but as rural banks we are doing our best to roll out the mobile app where customers can stay in their homes and bank with us”, he said.
Mr. Coffie spoke on the sidelines of the launch of the Bank’s 40th Anniversary with the theme, “ Odotobri Rural Bank PLC; 40 years of growing business.
Banking is gradually being moved to the digital space. Cash deposits, withdrawals and transfers are among basic transactions done on digital platforms.
Already, security features on the platform are being strengthened to protect the interest of customers.
Mr. Coffie reiterates the impact on the Bank's financials.
“Minimum capital requirement for rural banks is a million cedis but our bank has a capital of 3.4 million cedis. Other financial requirements which makes a bank healthy have have all been met”, he added.
Presently, the Bank has fourteen branches within the Ashanti Region.
