Papic made a surprise exit from Chippa on Wednesday, just five matches into his first season at the helm, with the Serbian having fallen out with the club's management.
The 54-year-old has not had to wait long to find new employment, taking over the role vacated by Boebie Solomons after Rise and Shine's slow start to the league campaign.
"I'm the new coach of Polokwane City," Papic toldGoal. "We concluded everything today and it's a one-year deal with an option to renew for another year."
Should Papic indeed take charge of the Limpopo outfit, his first assignment will be against fellow strugglers AmaZulu on September 13.
