As the buzz around this year’s edition of Adom Praiz builds up rapidly, Philipa Baafi, who is one of the artistes billed to perform on the night, says it is an honour to perform on the same stage with musicians she regards as her ‘seniors’.
With less than four days to the big day; August 27 at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre, Adom FM, which is powering the event, has stepped up its promotion with several of the performing artistes, including Stella Seal, Mary Ghansah, Tagoe Sisters, Cecilia Marfo all appearing on various programmes at the station to rev the momentum.
The latest in the studios was Philipa Baafi who appeared on the morning show, Dwaso Nsem. She told host of the show, Frimpong Manso Adakabre that she sees her inclusion in the event as a privilege because she grew up on the songs of some of the artistes she would be sharing the stage with.
“When Stella Seal, Tagoe sisters, Daughters of Glorious Jesus started singing, I was a little girl and I always looked up to them and now I am performing with them on the same platform, it is indeed a privilege,” she said.
Philipa, a firebrand on stage whose songs are mostly fast-paced and very danceable, said even though it would be a real challenge to step up the praise atmosphere at the Dome, patrons should expect her to deliver a not-to-be forgotten performance.
The Adom FM studio was turned into an instant auditorium as she sang along to some of her songs like Go High, Mogya N’akasa, Awurade Sori, Nkwa, I Go Dance and got staff of Adom FM trooping there in support.
Philipa reiterated that the evening of August 27 would be a night to remember and all who will be there would never go back the same because she and her colleagues will sing the presence of God down.
“The glory of God would be revealed on the night and joy will fill the lives of all those who partake in the event because what they will receive will be more than they have lost,” she assured.
