Popular British-Ghanaian radio DJ and media personality, Simon Boateng, well known as DJ Abrantee, who has spent the past eight months in a hospital and rehabilitation due to stroke, has been discharged.
There are pictures of DJ Abrantee, who has been a great force in the Afrobeats movement, walk out of the hospital side by side with his beloved mum and long-term girlfriend May7ven who flew her in.
Quite a happy moment for DJ Abrantee, his mum, who had not visited the UK for over 30 years arrived in the country a day before Abrantee was discharged from the hospital.
Sources say DJ Abrantee was discharged to continue with his rehabilitation and receive private care.
Although Abrantee has a long way to go, the news comes as great considering the fact that the initial prognosis of Abrantee’s illness was not a good one and was told chances of recovery or survival was extremely slim.
Days ago, DJ Abrantee shared a picture of himself standing after an MRI scan at the Hospital of St. John & St. Elizabeth.
He captioned it saying; “every day is a new start. A new chapter to turn everything around. We can make our plans but the Lord determines our steps – Proverbs16:9.
"They said I would never walk again 9 months ago but here I am standing strong and pressing on! Still, a long way to go. Just another MRI…”
