The Northern Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in an intelligence-led operation over alleged weapon smuggling in Savelugu, Northern Region.
A statement issued by the Police Public Affairs Directorate identified the trio as Gaba Abdallah Alhassan, Alhassan Abdallah, and Alhassan Abdul Kudus.
They were arrested on May 1, 2025, from their hideouts.
Police retrieved an AK-47 rifle, a Sub Machine Gun, a Smith & Wesson SD40 VE pistol, a single-barrel shotgun, two magazines, 15 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 13 rounds of pistol ammunition, 27 additional rounds, and five BB cartridges.
The suspects are in police custody, assisting with investigations.
“They will be taken through the due process of the law to face justice,” the statement stated.
