The Upper West Region Police have arrested one suspect in connection with the shooting of the Upper West Regional Minister Alhaji Amin Amidu Sulemani.
Some unknown gunmen last Friday shot and wounded the minister at Gbollu, a small town in the area.
The minister has since undergone a successful operation at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital to remove pellets from his body.
The suspect Mumuni Iddrisu, was picked up yesterday from his hideout upon a tip-off.
Regional Correspondent Rafik Salam reported that the suspect was being transferred from Gbollu, where he was arrested, to the regional capital Wa, for further interrogation.
Meanwhile Ghana is collaborating with Burkina Faso to counter attacks of armed robbery in the Upper West Region.
The Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, Caeser Kaleb, who disclosed this to the media said security was being beefed up along the borders.
