There is heavy security in Bawku and its environs in the Upper East Region following the shooting to death of three persons over the weekend.
One person was on Friday night shot dead and two others injured at Sagabo in Bawku by an unidentified man.
The second person was also shot in his home at Possum also in Bawku on Saturday night by two assailants.
The third person, Osmanu Inusah, 55 years old, was shot on Saturday night at about 19:45 hours.
Police in Bawku however say the shooting incidents are not linked to the protracted conflicts in the area.
Divisional Police Commander Chief Superintendent Ebenezer Kwaku Asare told Joy News they are on high alert to get the perpetrators.
"We have put additional personnel on the ground. We were all on patrols in the whole Bawku township yesterday [Sunday], including myself and we have put additional personnel at the area that the shooting took place", Chief Superintendent Ebenezer Kwaku Asare said.
Chief Superintendent Asare also told Joy News that a regional security meeting will be held on Monday to deal with the security situation in the town.
