The Eastern Regional Police Command yesterday intercepted two Howo Sino tipper trucks with 150 sacks of dried leaves, suspected to be Indian hemp.
The trucks with registration numbers GN 993-14 and GG 3674-20, loaded with the 150 sacks of dried leaves were concealed under tips of sand at Apesua near Nkurakan.
A press brief by Superintendent of Police Ebenezer Tetteh of the Regional Police Command’s Public Affairs Unit and copied the Ghana News Agency, has said.
He said two suspects, names withheld, being the drivers of the tipper trucks had been arrested and assisting Police in investigations. “The general public would be updated in due course,” he added.
