The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dismissed the findings of the latest Global Info Analytics opinion poll on how the citizenry feels about President Akufo-Addo.
According to the poll, 54 per cent of Ghanaian respondents want the President to resign.
The majority of the respondents believed the President has not managed the current economic crises well.
Reacting to these findings on JoyNews, NPP’s Communications Director, Richard Ahiagbah described the Analytics as pointless.
He further questioned the credibility of the poll.
“This one is highly deficient and largely unscientific. Also, the question asked was biased because you create a prejudice to the respondent,” he said.
Ghana’s economic situation has not been the best this year.
With the high rise in inflation, fuel prices, foodstuff and cost of living, a section of Ghanaians have demanded the resignation of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
But President Akufo-Addo has however dismissed these calls and on several occasions defended his cousin.
This has caused some people to call for the resignation of the President.
At least six identifiable groups including #FixTheCountry and Arise Ghana have signed on to partake in the “Ku Me Preko Reloaded” demonstration scheduled for Saturday, November 5.
The demonstration being organised by private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu is already garnering support from civil society organisations and the general public who think government has not done enough to alleviate the plights of citizens in the struggling economy.
