The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ashanti Regional Police Command is investigating a case in which a 23-year-old teacher, David Oduro, is alleged to have defiled a seven-year-old primary one pupil.
A source close to the police said David Oduro, alias Obama, took the minor to his house where he undressed the girl and fingered her to satisfy his libido.
According to the source, which pleaded anonymity, the suspect did not only kiss the juvenile but also made her lick his penis, during which he took pictures with his cellular phone.
Obama was said to have sexually assaulted the minor after taking her home at Anomagye Mpatasie, a Kumasi suburb, one day after school, without the consent of her parents.
Pictures of the teacher’s sexual escapade with the juvenile sighted by Daily Guide shows the little girl tightly holding and licking the erected reddish penis of David as he enjoyed the act.
The accused, a teacher at Frank Duff Preparatory School at Breman, a traditionally historic community in Kumasi, was said to have taken the pictures with his mobile phone during the illicit sexual encounter.
Luck however eluded the suspect when he was caught by the father of the victim who handed him over to the police last Monday, November 21, 2011.
Police sources disclosed that about two months ago, the accused, who is the class teacher of the victim, took her home after school without the knowledge of the victim’s parents.
The parents, worried over their inability to identify their child’s whereabouts, mounted a search, during which the parents called the class teacher late in the evening to assist them to find their daughter.
The suspect admitted to being in the company of the child at his house where she played games on his laptop computer.
The source said David had the nerve to request that the victim pass the night with him, a request the victim’s father angrily refused and went for the child around 10pm.
A couple of weeks later, the accused took the victim home again after school and allegedly assaulted her by letting her lick his penis and took pictures of their sexual act with his cell phone.
The complainant, after waiting fruitlessly for his daughter to return home after school, went to the accused person’s house around 9pm and found the victim there and took her home.
According to the source, on November 21, 2011, a Good Samaritan called the mother of the victim to inform her that the accused was showing nude pictures of her daughter to friends in the locality.
The mother, alarmed by the news, informed her husband who called the teacher for questioning. Not satisfied with the explanations, the father arrested him and handed the suspect over to DOVVSU for further investigations.
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional office of DOVVSU is awaiting a medical report of the girl which is vital in the prosecution of the case.
