President John Evans Atta Mills has told his Ministers and other appointees to be steadfast and put in more effort to support the Government to transform the socio-economic situation of the people.
He reminded them that the task ahead although difficult and challenging, was surmountable.
President Mills, who was on the last leg of his three-day working visit to the Ashanti Region, was inaugurating a GH¢150,000.00 Health Centre at Twabidi in the Ahafo-Ano North District.
The project was funded through the Community-based Rural Development Project of the World Bank.
President Mills said it was an incontrovertible fact that a lot had been achieved under his watch, citing numerous development projects in the areas of education, health, agriculture, youth employment and poverty alleviation.
This should, however, not make any appointees to give in to complacency since a lot more needed to be done to speed up growth in all sectors of the economy.
President Mills repeated that his Government would not be distracted from its goal of making things better for all Ghanaians.
Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, rejected claims that the Mills Administration was taking credit for projects started by the past government.
He said they had their own clearly defined development agenda, which they were executing to improve the lot of Ghanaians.
The Minister urged Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to take advantage of the district development fund to embark on social interventions that would help to raise the quality of life of the people.
President Mills later inaugurated a block of six classrooms built for the Maabang Senior High School (SHS) and an electrification project at Odikro-Nkwanta.
