The Congress of Paramount Chiefs and Queens of the Ho West District has commended Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, for his inclusive and participatory leadership style, which it said had fostered unity and collaboration among stakeholders in the region.

The Congress expressed satisfaction with the Minister’s approach to governance and his ability to bring together key stakeholders behind a common development agenda for the Volta Region.

The commendation was made during a courtesy call on the Minister at the Residency by a delegation of the Congress led by its President, Togbega Atsridom V, Paramount Chief of the Kpedze Traditional Area.

The delegation congratulated Mr Gunu on what it described as his exemplary leadership and commitment to the development of the region.

The Congress noted that the Minister’s dedication to the progress of the Volta region was encouraging and deserved the support of citizens and stakeholders.

It said the inclusive approach being adopted by the Minister was critical to accelerating development and addressing the socio-economic challenges confronting communities across the region.

The delegation therefore urged residents to rally behind the Minister and support efforts aimed at achieving sustainable growth and improving living conditions.

The chiefs and queens also engaged the Minister on a number of development concerns affecting their traditional areas, including the poor condition of some road networks.

They appealed for urgent intervention to improve the roads and help prevent accidents and other challenges associated with deteriorating infrastructure.

Discussions also focused on strategies to strengthen collaboration between traditional authorities and government institutions to promote sustainable economic and social development in the region.

The delegation further presented a formal request for the partitioning of the Ho West District, arguing that the current geographical size of the district was too large and placed a strain on administrative resources, thereby slowing development efforts.

Mr Gunu welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit and the confidence reposed in him.

He commended the Congress for its commitment to partnering with the government to advance the socio-economic development of the Volta region.

The Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to working closely with traditional authorities to drive sustainable development and improve the livelihoods of people across the region.
