The Policy Evaluation and Oversight Unit (PEOU) has completed work on a Policy Performance Management System for government.
A statement signed by the Head of the PEOU, Dr. Tony Aidoo says President J.E.A. Mills will launch the System on Thursday, September 29, 2011.
The Unit, which is under the Office of the President, was established two years ago. It has been mandated to create and periodically update a National Databank on the policies, programmes and projects being implemented for government by the various MDAs and MMDAs.
The statement explained that the PEOU also monitors, through performance tracking, the implementation of the policies, programmes and projects.
“We have been tasked with the responsibility to evaluate the results and assess the developmental impact of policies being implemented, the programmes and projects of government in order to provide the Presidency with advisory opinions on the overall performance and achievements of the MDAs and MMDAs, relative to the NDC Government’s vision of building A Better Ghana," the statement concluded.
