Former president Jerry John Rawlings has demanded the cessation of discussions relating to his accommodation.
The Rawlingses were rendered homeless by a Valentine's Day inferno that razed their Ridge residence.
Since then, the issue of resettling the former first family has remained contentious with some members of the ruling party accusing the government of dereliction in its duty to find a fitting temporary accommodation for the founder of the ruling party.
The government has consistently refuted the suggestion, arguing that everything humanly possible had been done to resettle the Rawlingses.
Now Mr Rawlings wants all discussions on the subject stopped.
His spokesperson, Kofi Adams told Joy News’ Cyrus De-graft Johnson Wednesday that the former president was unhappy with the tone of the debates surrounding his accommodation matter.
Mr Adams said some sections of the public had opportunistically jumped unto the issue and sought to use it to denigrate the former president.
He said there were delibrate misrepresentations to create the impression that the former president's criticisms of the government were borne out of frustration resulting from the government's failure to resettle him and his family.
Meanwhile the contract for the reconstruction of Mr Rawlings' house has reportedly been awarded.
