Miley Cyrus made waves by revealing some new ink last week, and now Rihanna is making sure she doesn't forget her personal motto. From now on, each time Rihanna looks in the mirror she'll be reminded that there's a lesson to be learned in every mistake.
Monday night, the singer showed up at her favorite NYC tattoo parlor, East Side Ink, and got "Never a failure, always a lesson" tattooed just below her right clavicle. Rihanna told the tattoo artist to write the motto backward so she could read it in a mirror, and to do it in gray ink instead of black so it wouldn't draw too much attention.
The tattoo artist, who is also the owner of East Side Ink, Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy told OK Magazine that Rihanna explained the tattoo to him: "I asked her why she wanted that, and she said, 'It's kind of my motto in life for everything' instead of considering things to be mistakes, considering them lessons."
