The fourth Rotary Club in Kumasi has been inaugurated under its charter name, Rotary Club of Kumasi-Premier International.
Chatter members comprise of Ghanaians, Asians, and diverse nationalities, depicting the diversity of Rotary.
The event on Friday, June 28, 2024, was used to raise funds for the screening and acute care of children of head potters popularly known as ‘Kayayei’ at the Central Business District (CBD) of Adum in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.
Rotary International is a renowned humanitarian service organisation that brings together a global network of volunteer professional leaders and businesses dedicated to tackling the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges.
Rotary connects 1.4 million members of more than 46, 000 Rotary Clubs in over 200 communities and geographical areas.
Rotary has 67 clubs in Ghana, three of which are in Kumasi: The Rotary Club of Kumasi, the Rotary Club of Nhyieso and the Rotary Club of Kumasi East.
The charter night event was chaired by Feyiase, Nana Addae Gyamera I as a special guest of honour supported by the District Governor of District 9104.
During the recent Rotary International District 9104 annual District Conference (DISCON 24) in Kumasi, the District Governor announced plans to facilitate the establishment of multiple rotary clubs in Kumasi to increase the number of clubs in the District.
The leadership of the Rotary Club in Kumasi say they are open to interested persons who wish to join the club to champion the course of supporting the less privileged group of people living in the country.
