Lawyer, and television presenter, Sandra Ankobiah has had a day's legal aid clinic for students and teachers of the Trans Africa University College in Accra.
Miss Ankobiah spoke on the topic 'Dealing with sexual offences on campus', a topic she said was informed by the increasingly alarming numbers of sexual related offences in some of Ghana’s schools.
The lecture also extensively looked at breach of promise to marry, and gave insights on how approach it.
The gesture, which she said was in fulfilment of her birthday wish (falls on May 18), was not only to raise awareness on the topic but also to draw their attention to the many ways by which they can avoid it, and also seek legal counsel.
An interactive question and answer session also saw the students and teachers get up close and personal with her, asking relevant questions on the topic.
Dr Maurice Ampaw of the Legal Advocacy Foundation, of which Ankobiah is coordinator, joined her at the session.
Sandra later donated an undisclosed amount of money to the school.
The school’s authorities later decorated both Sandra and Ampaw with a plaque.
A young Lawyer, and currently a co-host on TV3's morning show, New Day, Ankobiah is a former Miss Ghana, and Miss Ecowas Runner Up.
She is a product of Buckingham University, and the Ghana Law School.
