The second phase of the ministerial vetting in Parliament on Monday, 20th January, was marked by a disagreement among MPs over who should be allowed to speak first.
The Chairman of the Vetting Committee sought to prevent the Minority Chief Whip from speaking to save time for the main proceedings.
However, the Chairman’s directive did not sit well with the Chief Whip, resulting in a heated argument and murmurs among the committee members.
The first nominee to be vetted was the Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Governs Kwame Agbodza, who has been designated as the Minister for Roads and Highways.
He was followed by Haruna Iddrisu, the nominee for Minister of Education.
A similar incident occurred during the initial phase of the vetting process when the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, voiced disagreements on several issues.
