Television host Wendy Williams has bashed music star Rihanna for going almost nude to an awards ceremony recently.
The singer attended the CFDA Awards on Monday, 2 June in an Adam Selman dress, covered in 216,000 Swarovski crystals which clearly exposed her body including her boobs.
Controversial television host Wendy wasn't pleased with the outfit which has put the singer on blast globally. Although Rihanna received the Fashion Icon Award at the event, the Wendy Show host believes the singer is not an icon.
"She’s got a really terrific body and she’s a really beautiful girl, but as far as I’m concerned, she’s totally inappropriate for walking out the house with this outfit on," Wendy said on her show Tuesday.
According to her, Rihanna's outfit “is the kind of outfit…that when you invite all of your friends over and you’re hosting your down low sex party…then you wear this outfit. And you smoke your blunts out of a cigarette holder and you walk around like you own the joint. But you don’t walk out of the house like this. Since when is public nudity ok?”
"Rihanna is a risk taker," Wendy Williams observed but added that, "I don’t really consider her a fashion icon. I consider her a risk taker and it’s nothing wrong with that. I think that Jennifer Lopez is a fashion icon. Jennifer Lopez shows you just enough to leave you wanting more, which is what a lady does. And I think Sarah Jessica Parker is a fashion icon."
Recently, Rihanna deleted her Instagram account after administrator of the photo sharing side deleted her topless photos.
Instagram CEO, Kevin Systrom said deleting nude photos is part of the photo sharing site's strict no-nudity policy.
He told the BBC, “Our goal is really to make sure that Instagram, whether you're a celebrity or not, is a safe place and that the content that gets posted is something that's appropriate for teens and also for adults. We need to make certain rules to make sure that everyone can use it."
