At the end of the Coca-Cola Minigolf Clubs League Match Day 5, six minigolf clubs have qualified for the finals set for Sunday at the 18-hole Ridge Sports City in Accra.
Five clubs – Golden Putters at 39 points, Forbes at 28 points, Power at 28 points, Black Putters at 27 points and Nutterz Putterz at 25 points – secured their place comfortably.
However, the sixth spot had to be decided by a score difference with Kama club qualifying at the expense of Sky club despite the two teams finishing with 22 points.
Matchday 5 prize winners were Luvick Otoka & Ruben Minko of Kama Club who won the lowest score of 35 for the day and lowest Pairs Scored respectively.
A spectacular showdown is expected in the finals which Golden Putters are highly fancied to win after dominating the last round.
On Sunday, all scores, holes-in-one to this point will be scrapped, and the top six clubs will each choose their best three players to represent them in a one minigolf round of 18 holes, after which the best two clubs will square off for the ultimate prize at stake.
The champion will be awarded GHC 2500, with the runner-up taking home a 32-inch color TV, plus additional 10 prizes awarded to best league players in various categories from Melcom home appliances, Latex Foam mattresses, Azar paints, and Interplast products.
