Former Youth and Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, one of the key witnesses during the Brazil 2014 Commission of enquiry says his removal from the ministry after last year's World Cup fiasco does not connote any wrongdoing.

The former Sports Minister stole the headlines when he wept during the commission's enquiry

He was accused of being behind the poor travel arrangement for fans and awarding suspicious contracts.

Ahead of the Commission's presentation of its report to the presidency, the former Minister told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview that he was sacrificed.

"When there are tournaments, naturally people are excited. There is so much expectation  and when we go and we don't do well ,then we are all looking for somebody's blood."

"It's normal and so I had to be sacrificed. It's normal."

"I think that we should support the new Minister. He is very capable. I have full confidence in him and his capabilities," he added.

The Justice Dzamefe-led commission is expected to present its finding and recommendations to the presidency this week, after an over 100-day wait.
