The Board of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has taken a decision to sack interdicted IT Manager Dr Caleb Afaglo.
The decision, which takes immediate effect, was taken after a marathon meeting held Wednesday by the newly constituted board of the Trust.
In a statement issued shortly after the meeting, the board stated unequivocally Dr Afaglo fraudulently acquired his job by providing fake degrees.

Dr Afaglo was interdicted by the Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) after it emerged the degrees he claimed to have were fake.
He was employed as the MIS manager in 2015. Prior to his appointment at SSNIT, he had worked as IT consultant for the Trust, National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), and at MTN Ghana and Action Chapel International as the Data Services Supervising Engineer.
He had also served as the head of IT department at SIMNET GHANA and Dominion University. He was also a consultant at GLICO Insurance.
He was allegedly sacked in the three organisations for presenting fake documents, the anti-graft agency has said.
Sources say the authorities at the Dominion University found out about the fake documents after they applied for an accreditation from the National Accreditation Board.
His dismissal by SSNIT is perhaps the most publicised of all the others.
Meanwhile an HR Head at the Multimedia Group has faulted SSNIT for hiring an employee with questionable credentials.
Nana Elegba said “this should not happen in a proper HR set up”
He explained the credentials of every new recruit must be checked within the probation period of three to six months.
“The educational certificates presented must be sent to the school. You should not accept photocopies of the certificates without seeing the original copies.
He said the universities within a period of 24 hours can verify whether or not a certificate so presented by a new employee is original or fake.
Apart from the universities, he said the National Accreditation Board, at a fee, can also verify the authenticity of the certificates provided.
He wondered how Dr Afaglo worked at SSNIT for over three years without being found out.
