The Black Stars have arrived in Tamale ahead of their make-or-break encounter with Togo on Wednesday without Dede Ayew and Asamoah Gyan.
While Dede is completely ruled out of the match, substantive captain Asamoah Gyan is likely to make a quick return from injury to play in the game, pending approval by the team doctor Dr Adam Baba.
Dede is said to have suffered from a "minimal tear of the upper part of the inner thigh," Dr Baba explained.
"We just asked Dede to rest after the MRI scan," he confirmed but said Gyan is still being watched closely and could make a return on Wednesday.
According to FA spokesperson Ibrahim Saanie Daara, Gyan did not travel with the team but is due to arrive on Tuesday.
Ghana need a win or at worse a draw against the Hawks of Togo on Wednesday to guarantee a place in Equatorial Guinea 2015.
They will hold their first training in Tamale at 4:00 pm on Monday.
