Former Ghana Captain Stephen Appiah wants the fans of Accra Hearts of Oak to be to be modest with their expectations from the team despite an opening day victory.
The Phobians began their campaign with a 1-0 win over bogey side New Edubiase after which optimism has risen in the Phobian rank.
The followers of the team have lauded coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi with some even branding the Japanese American as the best thing that has happened to the club in a while.
But Appiah who played Hearts in the early stages of his football career has stated it is still early days yet.
“We have played just a game and the fans are singing praise on coach Kenichi but one thing we should know is that we have a long way to go,” Appiah told Joy Sports
“They have lots of matches to play and perform as well but i have been hearing good things about the coach especially with his work ethics so i pray this year will be Heart of Oak’s year."
‘But i think in all these we should measure our expectations- in as much as we are all hoping for the best we shouldn’t do things that will put pressure on the coach.
Hearts play Medeama this weekend on matchday two of the Ghana Premier League at the Tarkwa T and A park.
