A 30-year-old man, popularly known as ‘Rasta’ met his untimely death yesterday, when he was electrocuted at Effiakuma, near Takoradi.
The body has been deposited at the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital for autopsy.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the scene of the incident, at Effiakuma, on Friday, the Takoradi Central District Commander of Police, DSP Dela Dzanzi said, residents of the town woke up in the morning of Friday November 5 and found the body of the man wrapped with electrical cables in a gutter.
DSP Dzanzi said he could not readily tell whether the man was electrocuted whilst stealing the cables unless an autopsy had been conducted on the body to ascertain the cause of death.
He therefore warned unscrupulous individuals, who have been stealing cables to desist from the act, since it could be disastrous.
