Hundreds of digital entrepreneurs, stakeholders and collaborators are set to descend upon the Accra Digital Centre on 27 and 28 November 2018 for the second local staging of the Tech in Ghana Conference (TIGC).

Held twice a year, once in London and once in Accra; the TIGC supports Ghana’s burgeoning tech industry by providing a platform to highlight, engage, stimulate and connect with investors, government agencies, and key players and influencers.

The event launched in London in 2017 with a keynote speech from the UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Ghana, Adam Afriyie. In the same year, the second event was opened for the first time in Ghana by Minister for Communications Ursula Owusu-Ekuful. 

The Tech in Ghana Conference aims to explore three main areas: 
- How technology is disrupting norms and reshaping Ghana’s traditional industries
- How start-ups are providing profitable local solutions
- How regulators and policymakers are responding to this rapidly-evolving digital ecosystem

Operating under the theme ‘Local Focus, Global Reach,’ the upcoming event will focus on new areas such as businesses scaling internationally, digital growth outside of Accra, and entertainment.

Highlights include a keynote from Kwasi Adu-Gyan, Director-General of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, who is set to pay tribute to much-loved Ghanaian diplomat Kofi Annan.

Students from Ashesi and Lancaster University will also showcase the innovative technologies they’ve built, while ICT teacher Richard Appiah Akoto from Kumasi, who went viral on social media after posting pictures of himself drawing a Microsoft Word window on a blackboard, is also due to attend and share his story.

Other guest speakers on the day include representatives from the Ministry of Communications, MTN, KudiGo, Zeepay, Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, Stanbic Bank, Ecobank, Farmerline, Dext Technologies, Developers in Vogue, TROTRO Tractor, iSpace, eCampus, GSMA Intelligence, BlueSPACE AFRICA, Kumasi Hive and many more.

Tech in Ghana founder Akosua Annobil, who was recently named among the UK’s top 100 black and minority ethnic leaders in technology, says “Our aim is to facilitate relationships and showcase the technological innovations taking place throughout Ghana, so the TICG is the place to be if you’re serious about technology and interested in networking, finding new customers, and keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and opportunities.”

Additional features include the tech marketplace and food court, alongside the main exhibition.
