An aspirant for the People National Convention party has vowed to disrupt primaries to elect a parliamentary candidate for the Bolgatanga central seat today.
Rockson Akugriyine is accusing constituency executives of conniving with his contender and former MP for the constituency David Apasara to rig the elections.
Yesterday supporters of the two clashed in the town over the elections with several sustaining wounds and receiving treatment at the hospital.
Mr. Apasara lead campaigner and an acting organizer for the constituency Clement Aloku says their opponent is using violence because defeat is staring him in the face.
He said they had asked for police protection.
Lawyer Akugriyine conceded beating up supports of Mr. Apasara but said he and his supporters only retaliated attacks on them.
He said whilst he takes step to get a restraining order to stop the primaries, he will disrupt any attempts to go ahead with the elections today.
A correspondent told Joy News Wednesday afternoon the venue for the election was empty except a few policemen around.
