The High Court in Accra has scheduled multiple dates in February for a Case Management Conference (CMC) in the ongoing criminal trial involving former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Chief Executive Officer, Dr Mustapha Hamid, and nine other accused persons.
Dr Hamid and his co-accused are standing trial over allegations of extortion involving oil marketing companies during his tenure at the NPA.
Presiding judge, Justice Audrey Kocuvie-Tay, told the court that the selected dates would be dedicated exclusively to the Case Management Conference, with proceedings set to begin at 8:15 a.m. on each sitting day.
The court has fixed February 2, 9, 12, 17, 19 and 23 for the CMC as part of preparations to streamline the trial process.
Justice Kocuvie-Tay further directed that for the month of February, the accused persons are to report once to the Office of the Special Prosecutor, in line with adjusted bail reporting conditions.
The case has been adjourned to February 2, which will mark the formal commencement of the Case Management Conference.
