After several hours of what has been the most keenly contested Hitz Discovery auditions so far, three managed to make it to the next phase of the reality show.
Auditioning of Zone Four, made up of Accra Central, Asylum Down, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Adabraka, and Abelemkpe and environs, was held at the Boomerang Nite Club, Caprice, Saturday and according to the judges, it was the closest yet.
The judges, Ahmed Abubakar (Blakk Rasta), Jamie Adjetey and Georgina Bimpong, revealed that the Boomerang auditioning was the best yet and that the results were so close that some of the contestants managed with just a vote difference.
The three, Duodu Joseph, Ernest Ankomah and Faisal Mutaru, after they were cleared to enter the next stage, knew they have been lucky to have made it considering the excellence many exhibited during the auditions.
In all 18 youngsters including one female showed up for the audition.
Some spoke ‘tongues’ claiming to be rapping, and of course this did not escape the sharp lenses of the judges… one contestant even had to re-rhyme his rap lines a couple times to prove to the judges he knew what he was doing.
While some expressed maturity and confidence in front of the judges, others were either just not prepared or had no talent at all. The only female, Loreta Dankwah had a torrid time trying to sing Cecilia Marfo’s Efunumuba.
Six talents made it from the first round of the auditioning, subsequently moving onto the second round. The final three were subsequently selected from the six.
Zone Four’s winners take the total number of selected youngsters to 12 as the auditioning train hits the Groove Control Night Club in Tema, Community 12 for the Zone Five audition of what is now becoming the hottest music reality show in the country.
Zone Five comprises Tema, Ashaiman, Sakumono, Teshie, Nungua, La and environs.
Hitz Discovery is sponsored by Vodafone, X-Power, Delon Skin Care, Ultimate Print and MultiTV.
