Thrive Africa Edutech has donated an Apple MacBook Pro to the ICT Department of Wesley Girls’ Senior High School in Cape Coast to boost teaching and learning in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The gesture forms part of the company’s broader commitment to transforming ICT education in senior high schools across Africa, with a strong focus on AI and other emerging technologies.
As part of the initiative, Thrive Africa Edutech has also launched a free three-month intensive training programme to equip ICT teachers with AI skills and other competencies aligned with the Ghana Education Service (GES) syllabus.
Speaking at the presentation, CEO of Thrive Africa Edutech, Gad Ocran, said the intervention is aimed at bridging the digital skills gap and preparing students for the future of work. “Through Thrive Pre-University, we are providing advanced curricula in AI and emerging technologies entirely free of charge to senior high school students,” he noted.
Assistant Headmaster (Administration) of Wesley Girls’ High School, Rev. Gabrielle Kumassah, expressed gratitude to Thrive Africa Edutech for the donation and training opportunities, saying it will enhance the school’s ICT programme and inspire students to embrace innovation.
The initiative is expected to expand to other senior high schools in the coming months as part of Thrive Africa’s mission to democratize access to cutting-edge technology education across the continent.
