The Executive Secretary for the National Council on Tertiary Education, Professor Mahama Duweijua has appealed to striking members of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana to get back to the classroom.
The training college teachers have been on strike for the past one week.
Speaking at the first graduation of Tumu College of Education, Professor Mahama stated that their concerns are well known by the government.
However he said the solutions require patience, understanding and time.
Therefore, he cautioned, that “resorting to premature confrontations will jeopardize and disrupt the progress of interventions for completing your [the teachers’] transition to tertiary status though the bill has been signed.
