Hans van der Pluym witnessed his Chelsea side score this season’s fastest goal after they won 1-0 away at Edubiase on Sunday.
The Brong Ahafo side are back to their championship-winning best following Mohammed Musa’s goal after just 47 seconds.
The Dutch coach has introduced a tight style for the reigning title holders.
After the win he paid tribute to the team’s irrepressible spirit.
“The three wins are not about me, really. It is about the boys and how they responded to me. Getting a new coach to settle sometimes takes time but they have been very receptive of my methods,” the coach, whose team is now second, told SuperSport.com
For Chelsea, the win makes a title –retention suddenly possible again after it looked all but gone in the first few games.
Edubiase have now lost for only the second time this season, following an earlier loss to Hearts in Accra. The side’s vice-chairman is Alex Ackumey and he tried to explain to SuperSport.com why they lost.
“The early goal was obviously a shock and we could not come back to win. They closed us well throughout the game and we only have to look ahead.”
Looking ahead means a tough away trip to a compact Dwarfs side in a week. At the moment, the eastern regional lads have gone down to sixth in the standings.
