Despite claims that most Ghanaian comic acts are not funny, comedian Foster Romanus is optimistic stand-up comedy is here to stay.
Foster Romanus, who was allegedly booed off the stage by patrons of the Glo Laffta and Music Fest during his first appearance, redeemed his image weeks after during his second performance.
Perhaps, the impression he made got him back on the bill for the last session of the Glo Laffta and Music Fest on October 20.
The Comedian cum Presenter tells JoyNews’ MzGee that comedy in Ghana will get better.
“Yes, Ghanaians do appreciate us because we have the support, anytime we are doing our shows they come. There is no way you can get everyone to like you so it’s not a problem if we have, maybe, the majority not liking us,” he said.
The comedian added that “Ghana comedy has come to stay whether they like it or not. Funny or not funny, we have come to stay and we will do everything in our strength to make sure it really stands if not even in our time…Sometimes it is hurting when you hear people say ‘they are not funny’.”
