A street dancer, Stacy Amewoyi, who forced her way to become a video vixen has detailed her transformation to a devoted Christian, philanthropist and an entrepreneur. 

The beautiful dancer has featured in music videos including ‘Aku Sika’ by Antwi ne Antwi, ‘Shake the thing’ by Okyeame Quophi, ‘Ene Menye’ by Dada KD, and ‘Atenga’ by Nana Tuffour. 

She also starred in music videos by Pat Thomas, George Darko, Tommy Owiredu, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, Sonnie Achiba, Slim Buster and a host of others. 

In an interview with Franky 5 on ‘This Is Gospel’ on Hitz FM, Stacy Amewoyi revealed that she has featured in about 98 music videos as well as shot commercials for various brands. 

Before her encounter with Christ, she lived as an orphan who never experienced the care and love of her parents. 

Stacy Amewoyi disclosed that though she lived in a house with her great grandmother in Accra, she had to work on the streets to fend for herself. 

The struggle to survive turned her into a street dancer who entertained mourners at funerals held in Bubuashi, Atico, Darkuman and surrounding areas in a bid to get food to eat. 

She had to supplement this by working as a head porter (Kayayoo) because the funerals were not regular enough to feed her. 

This zeal as a street dancer made her popular and she sometimes had to squeeze herself in trunks of cars to travel and attend outdoor ceremonies to make ends meet. 

The dancer had offers to feature in music videos and TV programs after she joined a dance group called ‘Miracle Dancers’ founded by Omari Oppong.

She revealed that she accepted Jesus Christ’s salvation through the encouragement of a man she refers to as Pastor Joe. 

Stacy Amewoyi later became the face of ATL’s ‘Da Viva’ fabric as well as grabbing other ambassadorial deals as a model. 

The orphan from Accra had an opportunity to travel to Japan to continue her modelling and eventually moved to the United States of America after getting married. 

She no longer serves as a video vixen and model but has now focused her attention on supporting orphans to achieve their dreams through the ‘Stacy M Foundation’. 

According to her, a percentage of profits made from her businesses, including a boutique and a saloon, is channelled into the account of the foundation for the needy.
