A worker at the Local Government Ministry on Thursday afternoon, put out a fire that started in front of the office of the Administrator of Stool Lands at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources in Accra, averting what could have been a disaster.
Adam Seidu volunteered to stop the fire from spreading to other parts of the building using ten fire extinguishers.
Joy News' Anna Agyepong who was at the scene said Seidu managed to fight the fire even before firemen got to the scene.
A switch sparked a flame and started the fire, she reported, adding that
no documents were destroyed. A laptop belonging to one of the directors at the ministry was stolen, Anna said.
Anna quoted the Public Relations Officer of the Lands and Resources Ministry, Charles Wereko as saying the incident had been reported to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Mr Wereko was unsure when power will be restored but said the ministry will not take a break while admitting the incident will affect productivity.
