Wanlov the Kubolor was among celebrities and others who walked bare-footed Wednesday morning to mark the Global Bare-footed Walking Day to Fight Poverty campaign.
The event was held simultaneously across the world and in Ghana, it was organised by human rights advocate, Nana Oye Lithur.
The walk started from the Supreme Court premises in Accra Central and ended at the Independence Square.
Speaking in an interview with Myjoyonline.com after the walk, Wanlov said the event was organised by the Human Rights Advocacy Centre headed by Nana Oye Lithur.
He said, he and hundred others walked from the Supreme Court to the Independence Square where they were addressed by the leaders of the walk.
Wanlov explained that apart from the security personnel and journalists who were among the campaigners, everybody walked bare-footed.
Internationally, celebrities who also took part in the walk included Sir Richard Branson of the Virgin Group.
In another development, Wanlov Kubolor will join hi-life musician Gyedu Blay Ambulley and the Little Angels Trust to hold a charity event Saturday to donate and entertain children on admission at the Children’s Block of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Little Angel Trust is a body that has over the years held events of such nature to provide care and support and also touch the hearts of the children at the ward.
