A security expert Emmanuel Bombande has applauded the efforts by the police administration in maintaining peace, law and order during the election period.
He said the police have stepped up to the challenge and have exhibited a lot more professionalism during a feisty election season.
The police have received praises for a good job at policing the ballot during the Election Day, but the immediate aftermath of the election has brought about a new wave of sporadic political violence in parts of the country which is threatening the peace and security of the country.
The police have foiled attacks between supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress and the opposition New Patriotic party who are contesting the election results.
The police administration says the pockets of attacks are becoming more and more challenging but insisted they are on top of the job.
Speaking to Joy News’ Francis Abban on Midday News, Emmanuel Bombande said the police must be credited for a good job done so far.
He attributed the achievement of the police to good preparation before the election.
He however called on Ghanaians to support the police as much as they can with the necessary information in order to facilitate their work.
