Public sector workers can now expect to receive their salaries more promptly on e-zwich smart cards once a full implementation begins.
The Ghana Interbank Payment and settlements system, last month, began a pilot project for staff of the Controller and Accountant General's Department.
The move is to encourage the use of the biometric card and reduce the dependence on cash in the economy.
General Manager in charge of Project and Business Development, Archie Hesse, told Joy Business more public workers will be rolled unto the system by next month.
Mr. Hesse also told Joy Business the payment of salaries through the biometric smart card would introduce a lot more efficiency in public sector wage management.
