Two Electoral Commission (EC) officials collapsed at the Okaikoi North Collation Centre in the Greater Accra region on Monday evening after polls closed.
They were affected by pepper spray deployed during a chaotic scene.
According to JoyNews' correspondent James Eshun, tensions flared when NDC and NPP supporters arrived at the centre following allegations of attempted vote-rigging by some parliamentary candidates.
Party members gathered to safeguard the vote, leading to a heated confrontation.
The situation escalated, prompting police officers to use pepper spray to control the crowd attempting to force their way into the collation centre.
Unfortunately, some of the substance reached the EC officials, causing discomfort.
Initially, the affected officials appeared stable but later passed out as the effect worsened.
They were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
