Oti Boateng Senior High achieved a feat only a few have as the Eastern regional qualifiers of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) took off Monday.

The Koforidua-based school finished the four-round contest with 74 points, the second highest in the qualifiers.

The contest, which was the last for the day, featured Takrowase Community SHS, Akuse Meth, Kade SHTS, Atweaman SHS.

The other schools couldn’t keep up with Oti Boateng (OBOSS) as the gap between the second placed school and OBOSS stood at 58.

Takrowase Comm. SHS finished the contest with 16 points, Akuse Meth SHTS followed with 11 and Kade finished with 8 points; beating Atweaman SHS by three points.

In another contest, Nifa Senior High booked their qualification with 35 points after an impressive victory.

Their qualifying tally is two points higher than what they scored at the one-eighth stage in 2018 that saw them exit at the hands of Krobo Girls SHS.

They have earned a redemption chance after Presby SHS-Adeiso couldn’t stop them from a second consecutive qualification, having scored just 19 points.

St. Michael's SHS and Presby SHTS-Kraboa Coaltar tied with 18 points and Suhum Senior High trailed with 14 points.

Abuakwa State College also won with 37 points; defeating St. Francis SHTS with 17 points.

W.B.M. Zion SHS followed with 13 points while Nsawam SHS finished with 12 points. Mpraeso SHS scored only nine points to place last.

Kwabeng Anglican SHTS also edged into the prelims with 26 points. Despite a small tally, they beat Manya Krobo SHS who scored 19 and Attafuah SHTS who scored 18.

Asuom SHS and Bepong SHS finished with 13 and five points respectively.
