Joy News has learnt that the conjoined twins born at the Central Regional Hospital in Cape Coast have died.Doctors at the hospital confirmed the incident to Joy News’ Central Region correspondent Richard Kojo Nyarko.The twins died yesterday, the medical director at the hospital, Daniel Asare told Joy News.The hospital was yet to conduct post-mortem on them and doctors there would not give further details. But they have assured the media would be briefed at the appropriate time.The conjoined twins were born in the second week of May but their 16 year old mother who was traumatised by their condition refused to accept them.But following a formal agreement signed by the family of the conjoined twins to leave the children in the sole custody of government, the Social Welfare Department finally settled on a Swedish couple to adopt them.The twins died while necessary documentations were being done for their adoption.
