The Ga Mashie in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday celebrated the Odadao Ceremony to mark the lifting of the ban on drumming and noise making in Accra.
The one month period is an annual event which is a time of communion with the gods to seek favour for abundance of food and fish for the Homowo Festival.
This year’s festival is scheduled for Saturday August 10.
Nii Ayi Bonte II, Gbese Mantse expressed the unhappiness on the part of the Ga State about the constant fire outbreaks in the markets within the Accra Metropolis.
He called for intensive investigations and appropriate measures to forestall future occurrence of the disasters.
Nii Bonte noted that the markets are important to the country’s economy, hence the need for a holistic approach to resolve fire outbreak.
