The Ministry of Energy and Petroleum has announced an extension to the short-term load management programme which begun two weeks ago.
The Ministry said this was due to a fire incident at the Takoradi 3 Thermal Plant, which has necessitated a shutdown.
A statement signed by Mr Ras Liberty Amewode, Deputy Head of Communications, said the ministry would like to assure the public that all efforts are being made to restore normal power supply within the shortest possible time.
“Consequently, the Electricity Company of Ghana will come out with a load management programme,” the statement said.
