President John Dramani Mahama has, in accordance with Section 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Government Act 1993, Act 462, nominated thirteen persons for appointment as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Ashanti and Central Regions.The list of the nominees was contained in a statement signed by the Minister for Local Government and Rural Developmet, Akwasi Oppong-Fosu.Those nominated for MMDA’s in the Ashanti Region are Alhaji Latif Majdoud for Adansi North, Ebenezer K. Akouko-Frimpong for Sekyere Central and Kwame Adarkwah for Bosome Freho.Others are Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi for Obuasi, Paul Kingsley Arweh Averu for Asante Akyem North and Donkor Fuseini-Sekyere for Afram Plains.The rest include Alhaji Nuru Hamidan for Asokore Mampong and Alhaji Braimah Boyong for Asante Akyem Central.The nominees for the Central Region Assemblies are Alex D. Antwi Bosiako for Assin North, Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah for Gomoa West and Nii Ephraim for Effutu Municipal Assembly.Francis Kofi Korankye Sakyi and Ibrahim Kwaku Dawson are heading for the Twifo/Heman/Lower Denkyira and Ekumfi District Assemblies respectively.The various Assemblies will meet to give approval for the President's nominees.
