The Vice President and Executive Director of Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), Ing. Harold Esseku and Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has made a presentation to the outgoing President and Executive Director of the American Public Works Association (APWA).
William Spearman, the President, and Scott Grayson, Executive Director met the executives of GhIE at the APWA Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington.
APWA and the GhIE held discussions to further co-operation between the sister organisations.
The two parties discussed ways to deepen professional development for members of the GhIE.
There was a proposal for municipal engineers to undertake webinars and other continuous professional development (CPD) programmes.
Also, an opportunity will be made available for Municipal Engineers to attend future conferences.
The main themes of the APWA conference have been described as very beneficial to the GhIE and Ghana at large.
There are also ongoing discussions on Sustainable Development, Resilience and the Circular Economy and the Development of Climate Resilient Cities.
The 2019 APWA conference is from September 8 to 11, 2019 at Washington State Convention Centre in Seattle, Washington.
