Prince Mackay, the Founder and CEO of the Radio and Television Personality Awards (RTP Awards) Africa, is on his way to becoming richer by half a million dollars (USD 500,000) after signing to a deal to franchise the RTP Awards to a business man in Liberia.
The deal which was reached at the Plush Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra on Sunday 5th January 2014 will see Liberia Host the RTP Awards from 2015.
The franchise which is believed to be a 5 year renewable contract also makes Prince Mackay the CEO of the Awards in Liberia aside being a CEO in Ghana as well.
Prince Mackay, it is leant, will soon be leaving Ghana for Liberia to understudy the country’s media landscape and also use the opportunity to develop a Blue Print for the Awards in Liberia.
The RTP Awards CEO and Founder intends to use part of the money to establish his long time dream of setting up “RTP Hall of Fame” project for distinguished media men and women of excellence in Ghana who would be inducted into the RTP Hall of Fame after serving this country over a period of time in their capacity as media people.
He says “it will be a beautiful place of honour, a place where portraits of such men and women in the media will be kept with a well stuck research library containing write-ups on such distinguished broadcasters on how they made it and how the young ones can emulate such distinguished broadcasters to become role models for the future".
