Singer, Kofi Kinaata, has replied veteran highlife musician, Rex Omar after the latter said he [Kinaata] is a good lyricist but not a good songwriter.
In an interview, Mr Omar while mentioning his top five Ghanaian songwriters, left out the Takoradi-based singer saying “he’s a good lyricist and not a songwriter.”
Mr Omar’s list of songwriters included musicians Amandzeba Nat Brew, OJ, Okyeame Kwame, Reverend Yawson, Akwaboah and Ephraim Amu.
But, Kofi Kinaata, said he sees nothing wrong with the veteran singer’s choice.
He told Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen host, Osei Bonsu that as long as people are entitled to their opinions, he accepts Mr Omar’s words in good faith.
“It is his opinion and he knows too much. My fans call me the Fante rap god, and he also has his opinions. I don’t want to talk about it. Ronaldo has speed, dribbles and all that but some say he’s not a footballer. That’s how I see it,” he said.
