Highlife artiste, Ronald Kweku Dei Appiah, popularly known as Bisa Kdei, has revealed that his hit song ‘Metanfo’ (My Enemy) was not inspired by any past experience he had in life.
Speaking to host of Joy News’ AM show, he explained that although other songs he has produced like ‘Baba’ were based on his personal encounters, ‘Metanfo’ was based on the Kumawood movie of the same title.
The song which was released in 2014, tells the story of a young man who lamented about how his enemies waste no time in plotting against him. He, however, was determined to overcome their schemes by trusting in God.
Bisa Kdei explained to host Ronald Walker that he is very particular about making timeless music.
“Whenever I’m about to produce, I think about how it is going to sound in the next 10 years. I think about the fact that the kids that will be around in 10 years will like to listen to Bisa Kdei,” he said.
However, he explained that he blends the old and new school to please everyone rather than trying to focus on a part of the audience.
Bisa Kdei called on his fans to be on the lookout for a highlife festival dubbed “Bisafest” scheduled for December.
The highlife event will be graced by several other artistes who will subsequently be announced in November.
