Lancaster University, Ghana has launched its Global Executive MBA programme designed for ambitious professionals with the potential and desire to take their career to senior levels of management and leadership.

The MBA programme scheduled to commence in July 2014, combines the expertise of Lancaster University, UK and that of Ghana in delivering post work experience programmes to guide the transfer of knowledge within the local business context.

As a part-time programme, it will enable students to further their managerial education, while working – and the programme design also gives them flexibility to take modules in other locations, where the Lancaster Executive MBA is delivered.

Graduates of the programme are expected to be strategic leaders, who have the confidence, skills and practical expertise to work effectively with others.

They will be able to lead at all levels, across all industrial sectors, and in every corner of the world. The programme provides a comprehensive grounding in general management theory with a focus on strategy, change and leadership.

With the programme, students will be able to gain an understanding of the complexity of the organizational and business environment, and how to manage it effectively.

Students, who successfully complete the programme will be awarded an MBA certificate by the Lancaster University, UK.

The Lancaster faculty is involved in designing and delivering the programmes that are highly rated in the UK and are among the best management consultants, educators, and research scholars in the world.

Other outstanding global faculty will complement a large contingent of UK based educators delivering the Global Executive MBA in Ghana.

Lancaster University is ranked in the top one per cent of universities globally among 17 500 universities worldwide, and has been delivering MBA programmes for many years. It is also one of the top ten universities worldwide aged less than 50 years.

Provost of Lancaster University, Ghana, Professor John Grainger, said the new programme is to aspire managers and professionals, who intend to pursue their careers to senior management levels.

He remarked “Lancaster University Ghana is committed to providing quality programmes to ensure that Ghanaians and Africans in general, have access to world-class tertiary education, without having to travel abroad.”

on his part, Professor Steve Bradley, Lancaster University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), said the programme would draw on the strong global reputation of the Lancaster Executive MBA:

“The programme itself is also provided in the UK by our internationally recognized Management School, which is triple-accredited by the AACSB from the US, EQUIS (Europe) and the Association of MBAs. The faculty members, who will teach on the programme, bring a wealth of experience, having taught the programme in Malaysia, Jordan, Singapore and Zambia.”

Also, Professor Mark Shackleton, Associate Dean for Postgraduate Studies at LUMS, noted that the Global MBA is developed in a way that will attract candidates from a wide range of diverse backgrounds, providing a rich and fertile context on which excellent faculty facilitators can build on, by drawing out learning and discussions during class contact time.
