President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has dismissed allegations the FA sent more officials than was needed to Brazil.
At a press conference in Accra after what has been described as a shameful and disastrous campaign in Brazil, the FA chairman stated emphatically "there were no holiday makers in Brazil."
Critics including some of the players have accused the FA of carrying more officials to Brazil at the expense of the Black Stars.
Sulley Ali Muntari reportedly slapped one of the FA members after questioning what role he was performing in Brazil.
He suggested that many of the FA members, some of whom had no specific duties in Brazil were sent there to feed on the Black Stars' largesse.
But the FA Chairman has debunked the assertion.
He told journalists at a well attended press conference that everybody taken to the World Cup had specific roles to perform.
He said unlike Ghana's Group G opponents- US and Portugal who came along with 106 and 100 contingents respectively Ghana went with 57 contingent which included the 23 players, technical team and FA officials.
Of the 57, 23 were players, 20 were part of the technical team, seven others FA officials with the rest being part of catering service and other services, he explained.
"There is an erroneous and a clear misconception that people were sent to Brazil for holiday. It is not true. There were no holiday makers in Brazil.
"Everybody was busy right from the first to the last day," he insisted.
